DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Basic Needs Housing Specialist, the Rapid Rehousing Coordinator independently provides a range of support services for Basic Needs at UC San Diego. The incumbent conducts case intake, intervention, and makes referrals related to housing insecurity. The Rapid Rehousing Coordinator provides coordination of Emergency Housing Services and community outreach efforts to UC San Diego students/staff to foster an ecosystem of housing security resources.
The Rapid Rehousing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting efforts in the Off-Campus Housing Office within The Hub Basic Needs Center including: outreach, data management, one to one student support, and the development of program materials to provide off-campus housing information/guides in collaboration with campus partners. The Rapid Rehousing Coordinator will provide support in facilitating housing security workshops/webinars, as well as one to one guidance for students looking for stable housing.
Using professional student services theories and concepts, performs a limited range of duties and responsibilities within a Student Life program. Works independently to provide information and interpretation of clearly defined policies, procedures, and regulations. Receives direction regarding more complex issues and/or program(s). Identifies individual student needs for programs and services and advises on appropriate programs and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. **General knowledge of the trends, characteristics, and issues facing students with dependents. Demonstrated ability to provide administrative case management, including direct contact with clients and other providers, as well as administrative duties. Skilled in coordinating, directing, evaluating, and implementing case management services for students with dependents. Ability to handle conflict resolution, problem-solving, negotiation, general counseling, and referral techniques.
Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. **Working knowledge of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and electronic mail applications, in order to perform all administrative responsibilities associated with the position. Experience with electronic record keeping and database software.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
Understanding of University rules and regulations. **Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
Interpersonal skills. **Ability to communicate, engage and develop rapport with individuals of diverse cultural, social, and religious backgrounds, and varied age, gender, and sexual orientation. Must be able to demonstrate respect and integrate cultural sensitivity when providing services. Cultural competency as evidenced by a strong record of advocacy for the needs of the underserved populations.
Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking. **Knowledge of how to effectively enhance student intellectual and personal growth and development, including critical thinking, effective communication, self-appraisal,self-esteem, clarification of values, and appropriate career choices.
Abilities in problem identification, reasoning. **Knowledge and experience in analyzing moderately complex situations and identifying solutions for problem-solving; skills and experience supporting programs designed to meet the diverseneeds of this student community.
Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills. **Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate information in small and large group settings. Ability to speak formally and informally and make prepared and extemporaneous presentations to individuals and groups in order to provide information, explain procedures, investigate facts, and persuade others.
Solid knowledge of undergraduate and graduate student development theories to explain college student behavior, including psychosocial theories, cognitive/structural theories, and ecological and integrative theories.
Ability to plan, develop, and administer enrichment programs/projects, academic and personal development seminars, courses, and workshops.
Familiarity with the methodologies used to enhance student achievement such as collaborative teaching/learning models, strategies for effective counseling and peer mentoring, small group facilitation and training, coaching, mentoring and advocacy.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements to provide for access, health, confidentiality, and safety; legal and ethical issues governing the delivery of counseling services.
Demonstrated ability to research, write analytical reports, and make presentations on issues related to students and student behavior.
Excellent ability to work as a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary decentralized team.
Solid knowledge of student security and privacy requirements including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
Demonstrated ability with crisis intervention.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and anti-racist practices.
Ability to provide advocacy and support for underrepresented students in a higher education setting.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $53,800 - $91,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $25.77 - $43.58
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
