DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Care Coordinator provides support to patients on surgery-related matters for the Department of Urology, including scheduling outpatient clinic appointments, operating room procedures, related tests, and pre- and post-operative appointments. This role functions as a liaison with patients, physicians, hospitals and other departments regarding scheduling, authorization, and patient surgery preparations. Responsibilities also include identifying patient concerns and either notifying the appropriate personnel and/or making recommendations as appropriate. Additionally, this role coordinates the delivery of special equipment, supplies, and blood donations. The Clinical Care Coordinator also works with insurance companies online and via phone to secure necessary authorizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience

  • Current urology scheduling experience.

  • Excellent customer service skills required.

  • Knowledge of health insurance companies and community medical groups.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in administrative coordination in a healthcare setting.

  • Experience with coordinating surgical cases with multiple physicians from other specialties and/or external locations.

  • Demonstrated expert level knowledge of various insurance including HMO, PPO, POS, etc.

  • Experience coordinating, planning, maintaining and arranging complex calendars for meetings, events, programs and appointments.

  • Strong experience with editing and proofreading documents, as well as writing clear, accurate correspondence, meeting minutes, and/or reports.

  • Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure/formats, demonstrated skill in composing correspondence.

  • Prior experience in gender health programs.

  • Experience in one or all of the following: Urology and/or Urologic Oncology, Hematology-Oncology, Hematology/Surgical Oncology terminology.

  • Experience using EPIC Cadence.

  • Experience using FinancialLink, TravelLink, and BLINK.

  • Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology.

  • Knowledge of UC policies and procedures regarding purchasing, pay authorization, travel, and entertainment expense reimbursement.

  • Bilingual.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
