DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing authorizations, insurance verification, registration, and customer service. Key duties include ensuring proper documentation of funding, eligibility, and authorizations in EPIC; processing authorizations associated with orders; and serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, and insurance providers.
The role also involves answering multi-line calls, scheduling appointments, completing online registrations, and resolving authorization and registration issues. Additional front desk support and other related duties may be assigned as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) years of directly related experience in a large complex healthcare or clinic setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Call Center, Authorization Coordinator or Front Desk experience
- Must be able to cover between various department locations as needed.
- Proven organizational and project management skills, determine priorities, complete multi projects, and high level of attention to detail while working with conflicting deadlines.
- In depth knowledge of hospital registration and insurance authorizations.
- Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
- Demonstrated skill working between multiple systems during calls.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and apply good judgment and discretion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- EPIC, ORSOS, PCIS, and IDX experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various times and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $68,883 - $68,883 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.99 - $32.99
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
